ZDHC Training refers to specialized programs designed to educate individuals and organizations about the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) initiative, a global movement aimed at eliminating the discharge of harmful chemicals in the textile, apparel, and footwear industries. These training sessions provide the knowledge and tools necessary to implement sustainable chemical management practices aligned with ZDHC guidelines.

Overview

The Chemical Management for Textile and Leather Assemblers course has been designed for textile and leather assemblers based on the digitized Suppliers Roadmap to Zero. This advanced level course will help you understand, implement and strengthen chemical management systems at your facility.

It is suitable for supplier facilities that have assembling or cut-make-trim operations but do not have chemical-intensive processes at their manufacturing facilities. These include the following:

1. Textile apparel assemblers (CMT)
2. Textile accessories and trims assemblers
3. Home furnishing assemblers
4. Leather apparel assemblers (CMT)
5. Leather accessories and trims assemblers

1. Chemical Management Strategy
2. Document and Process Control
3. Continuous Improvement Actions
4. Waste Management

Output

1. Air Emissions, limited to calculating and reporting of GHG emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2)
2. Waste Disposal

Learning outcome

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Understand the importance and scope of input material management and maintain a Material Inventory List (MIL)
2. Establish and demonstrate input material traceability, and handle RSL non-conformities
3. Define and implement a Chemical Management Strategy (CMS)
4. Engage effectively with upstream suppliers, for ZDHC Supplier Roadmap to Zero requirements.
5. Maintain CMS-related documentation and SOPs
6. Apply continuous improvement practices
7. Identify and manage chemical-related waste
8. Gain a basic understanding of air emissions (GHG Scope 1 and 2)
9. Identify appropriate waste disposal methods

Prerequisite

Learners should have any one of the following to sign up for this course:

1. Chemical Management Fundamentals course certificate
2. Chemical Management Fundamentals Exam only certificate
3. Valid certificate of any one of the following courses:
